4th of July and Josh's 8th Birthday!

Well...I believe this will be the final post for our week in Estes Park! :)
Here is Samantha and Nana making a cake for the 4th of July!

 She was working very hard....concentrating....

Ta Da!!!! It was delicious too!

 We, of course, spent some time at Coffee on the Rocks....feeding the ducks...drinking coffee...and running around...

 We weren't sure if the firework show was going to happen..but...it did. :)

They got out a game I remember playing when I was Josh's age....Skittles....I think that's the name of it...

 The Faulkner fam also spent the night so they were around for Josh's birthday too. Thanks! So, we had to go play some baseball!

 Then...Josh finally got to go down the big slide...I don't remember the exact number..but..it was close to 7x....

I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that he is 8.....but, that doesn't matter....because he is and he just started the 2nd grade!

Alright...I wonder what we have coming up next??

Estes Park...Part 3

Um...I took a lot of pictures this particular week...We might be in Estes Park posts for awhile...

Anyways...as you can see...Sam loves her corn on the cob. 

 She also loves to help Nana with the bird feeders!

 Josh got to open up an early birthday present from Eric! It was a new hiking backpack with a whistle, binoculars and all sorts of fun stuff...

 While the boys are away....the girls go to town! :)

 One evening, Eric and I, went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant up there, The Dunraven. Delicious. Afterwards we went "touring" around to places that we'd never driven to before. We went into the YMCA of the Rockies which I've been to way too many times from high school/college stuff...but, we kept on driving behind the cabins and such...we ended up on a dirt road and on property I'm not sure was public...BUT...it.was.BEAUTIFUL!  Here a couple of pictures from there...

Ok...so... we played putt putt a couple of times and my pictures got all out of order...anyways... doesn't matter... but, I'm pretty sure this was the 4th of July.

Josh loves putt putt so much that yesterday he asked me if there was a putt putt team he could join.

Again, a beautiful backdrop for the course!

We also went to Coffee On The Rocks several times. This place is wonderful. Wonderful coffee. Wonderful food. Wonderful ducks. Wonderful view. Wonderful time.

Oooooooooooo..... and then another day my Mom and I wanted to go check out this little trail right above town that we've never been to before...

 The trail led to an old stone home with a SPECTACULAR view!

 Not sure what they are pointing at....(probably Starbucks or Mary Jane's...) ;-)

 Seriously.... a great.view.

 Future mountain climber... HA!

 And, then, well... let's just say that it was one of those mornings for Josh....and Papa, Eric, and Josh came and met us.....

BUT... that day ended on a great note and so I will end this post on a great note! :)
