This past week I finally feel like it is summer! The kids and I have had various things going on the last 3 weeks and now there have been several days where we don't have anything to do! YAY! :-) One morning when we were in our backyard I decided we needed new water toys! Well...this is actually how it happened...Our backyard neighbors have a pretty big blow up pool....as in...it's huge. They have two older kids and it looks very tempting. They actually put it next to their trampoline so the kid in me was thinking that jumping from the tramp into the pool would be interesting... ;-)
Anyways...Josh decided that we needed one too(of course)...I had to remind him that we DID have a pool. One of those blue, plastic ones that you don't have to blow up....however, a couple of weeks ago he and his partner in crime(samantha) started carrying rocks up the stairs outside, then threw them over the railing, trying to have them land in this blue pool we HAD! The rocks made cracks in the pool and therefore...rendered it useless...unless, of course, you need a target for rock throwing!
Needless to say...we ended up at Target with one new blow up pool and a run through sprinkler toy that attaches to the hose. The kids were so excited! They both ran and got their swimsuits...Josh and I kept telling Samantha that she was going to get wet(she has an aversion to that....) She didn't seem to care at that moment. See....they were discussing their plans from upstairs..
I went ahead and set up the sprinkler toy for them while I got the pool ready....Josh was all about it...just notice the little purple thing with a white hat on in the background..she didn't move...
At this point...Josh was loving it and Sam...couldn't stand it..do you see her hands!! HA!
GRUMPY PANTS...
Unfortunately for Samantha, one of the water shoots moved and landed on her. Josh and I kept telling her to move or walk away, but she just kept standing in the same place. Too funny...I kept taking her picture...I'm sure my neighbors were concerned because she has a pretty loud scream!

Sam ended up over with sand...much happier, that is until she realized her feet were all sandy..

One last thing...the air pump I had wouldn't work on the pool. So, we actually had to go BACK to target and yes, they wore their swimsuits....I bought a new one....we got home and it started raining....this morning Josh woke up asking about the pool....it's been windy, cool, and rainy pretty much all day....except of course when our lawn guys were here mowing, weeding, and edging....Josh still wore his swimsuit all afternoon....so, we have yet to "swim" in the new pool....hopefully tomorrow....it has still been fun to see Josh in his summer uniform; a swimsuit!
