During my 4 years of high school in Boulder, I can recall only one snow day. My freshman year during the fall. The only reason why is that the snow was so early and heavy, the leaves had not yet fallen, so the branches of the trees broke under the weight of all the snow. Some branches fell on power lines and the high school was without power! Now...about 13 years later...Eric got 2 snow days in a row!! This completely baffled me for many reasons, but I was not about to complain!!! ;) Have you ever heard of a doctor getting snow days??!!? No, me neither....but, in this situation, luck was on our side. He is on pediatrics on base this month and since the base was shut down...he didn't have to report!! (I need to file this in my 'pro' file in my brain and bring it out when the Air Force is making me mad!!)
Anyways, it was awesome....if he had been on an inpatient rotation or down at Cardinal Glennon, he would of had to work, so...we enjoyed it immensely and Josh couldn't have been happier. Well, maybe, if this blasted cold he has would just go away!!! It's now showing itself as eczema on his face....(that's why his face is all red in these pictures...he's not dirty, he didn't just drink red Koolaid).
What's interesting is February 1st of 2008 was our last big snowfall....and the one we received this year was on Jan 27-28!! I'm going to bet that Jan 30th 2010 we will have snow on the ground!! :) He loved helping dad shovel and I have some video I'll post when I have more time!! I'm about to go pick Josh up and then when we come home we will eagerly anticipate the arrival of our friends Pat and Madeline from Cincinnati!!! (they went to high school with Eric, but I think they like me better now!! HA j/k...but seriously!!! ;) )
Have I told you how cute Josh is?!?!?!
